Brian Daniels, an adjunct professor on the Sustainable Cultural Heritage M.A., was recently called to give evidence on June 23rd, 2017 to the House Banking Committee, which is the committee of the US House of Representatives that oversees the financial services industry. The committee was investigating the role of antiquities trafficking in funding terrorism. This issue has received a lot of press attention but, as Prof Daniels informs the committee, not all of the claims made can be supported. This kind of balanced testimony from well informed professionals is key to good decision making. Professor Daniels embodies AUR's commitment to educate a new generation of heritage professionals who are ready to face contemporary challenges. See his testimony on this important topic in the video below (starts at 23:20).
